Batchcrete succesfully complete two sand stablisation projects. The first of which involved use of the Bertoli ZS1260 mobile batch plant as part of the Orebody 24 project for BHP in Newman. Batchcrete were contracted to supply stabilised sand for culvert work. The second project also utilised the Bertoli ZS1260 as part of Rio Tinto’s Rail Duplication project in Karratha. In both instances Batchcrete personnel spearheaded the operation, providing the mining giants with a productive and lucrative solution. Batchcrete have now completed sand stablisation work for the likes of BHP, Rio Tinto, Ertech and Monadelphous KT.

This month Batchcrete commences manufacturing their new Grout Plant. The plant has been in the design phase for almost four months where it underwent theoretical testing, resulting in four design changes before engineers were happy with the end result. The plant, capable of loading from 1 tonne bulk bags, is fully automated adding water, powder and additives at pre-set amounts and delivering up to 15m3 per hour of mixed grout or any other cementitious based product including bentonite mixes. Another new Piccini MF250 mixer was delivered to a Queensland company, bringing the number now owned by them to three units. This unit will be used to mix a cement sand grout. A Bertoli Ecomix 40 Mobile Batching Plant has recently been sold to carry out road repairs in the North West of WA. The unit will be mounted on the rear of an Isuzu Cab Chassis in Carnarvon, where it will serve as a mobile road repair unit to assist in infrastructure repairs, following the recent devastation caused by floods in the North West. The Water Corporation will take delivery of a new Sicoma Mixer this month for a specialised pipe lining application. The mixer will be mounted on a purpose designed trailer that incorporates its own loading facility The mixed product is fed into a pump that feeds into a spray applicator, which will line the inside of steel pipes with a protective cement slurry. Quality Building took delivery of their new Mobile Batching Plant in December. The Bertoli ZS640 was mounted on their own cab chassis. The unit is completely automated and can deliver 10 – 40m3 of mixed product per hour. The Bertoli comes complete with 2 hopper bins, water tank, delivery chute and auxiliary motor to run the unit independently of the truck. Other machines in the range include units with 10 to 60m3 per hour, with trailer and skid mounted options.
The new Bulk Bag Dispensers were delivered to Port Hedland and Karratha in December, for the bulk storage and shipping of Aggregates and Sands for production of Concrete on Barrow Island. The bulk bags are filled via the dispenser which uses a deductive weighing system to fill the bags to the correct level. Following quarantine, the filled bags are then placed in an open top shipping container and sent across to the Island where Batchcrete’s new Batching Plant will produce 5000m3 of concrete from it.
